MEETING NOTES:
Historic Designation Committee Meeting Wednesday, November 29, 2023, 6:30pm The Historic Designation Committee met Wednesday, November 29 via zoom. Emily Taff, Chair, reported on participation to date on Worksheets. Some discussion on how to improve participation, deadline of Dec 15 is already out there. Aaron Fortner reminded us all of the next steps in this process. Pointed out that we do need to have an end to this portion (close worksheets and analyze input) in order to move on to the next step of drafting potential regulations. He doesn't want to comb through the input we have so far if the we are still receiving responses. There will be more opportunities, during the reviews of the draft regulations to have more discussion and input from neighbors so these worksheets are not anyone's "last chance" to give input although we do really want a strong showing. It was noted that upwards of 10% participation of all Candler Park households would be reasonably acceptable. It was suggested that having neighbors (like Block Captains!) forward this to their friends and neighbors could improve participation. Emily noted that new responses accrue each time a email goes out. Takeaway: - get a new CPNO eblast out - HDC eblast - reach out to block captains

Historic Designation Committee Meeting Wednesday, October 25, 2023, 6:30pm The Historic Designation Committee met Wednesday, October 25 via zoom. 7 committee members, Aaron Fortner and one guest were in attendance. Emily Taff, Chair, reported on investigation into what it would take to include regulations on density in a potential historic district. Committee reviewed the presentation for the November 9 Community Meeting with Aaron Fortner. Discussed breakout session logistics and worksheet plan for the upcoming meetings. Discussed how to improve participation in all worksheets for those who have attended the meetings or not. |
